Setting Up a BSC Dell Notebook for Home Use

Congratulations on the purchase of your new BSC Dell notebook computer. Your computer is pre-loaded with all the software from the factory, but there are a few preliminary steps you can follow to ensure your computer is up to date, and ready to gain access to the BSC wireless network. Please run these three simple tasks before arriving on campus. Please note that all steps require an Internet connection to work properly.

1. Install Windows Updates

  1. Install the latest Windows updates and patches. To check if your computer needs any updates, click the Start button and select Microsoft Update. This will launch Internet Explorer and take you to the Microsoft Update website. You may also access Microsoft Update by opening Internet Explorer, clicking the Tools button, and selecting Windows Update.
