Backing Up Your Moodle Course

  1. In the Administration block in the left-hand column, choose the Backup link
  2. Decide if you want to include all or some of your content by clicking on the available checkboxes, and if you want to include users and their data or not by pulling down the appropriate menu

  3. Click the Continue button at the bottom of the page

  4. Give your backup file a name you will recognize, remembering to leave the .zip extension on the file, and then click the Continue button
  5. The next window will tell you that the backup was completed successfully, and then click the Continue button
  6. You will now see a .zip file in your file repository that you may right-click and Save Target As to a USB drive or a CD-ROM if you wish to save the file outside of Moodle
