Voicemail System for Contacting Students

Voicemail Instructions for Contacting Students

The new voice mail system allows students to be contacted in one of two ways; the first is by the student voicemail number, the second is by name dialing using the keypad of the phone.

Here is how it works:

When you call a residence hall student phone and the call is not answered, the following message will play;; "You have reached the Bridgewater State College voicemail system.; If you know the student mailbox press 1, to dial by name press 211 and follow the prompts".;

When you dial 1 you will hear:; "Express messaging to mailbox", at this prompt enter the mailbox number using the keypad followed by the # sign.

When you dial 211 you will hear:; "Start entering the last name, for Q press 7 for Z press 9.; To exit press #, for more information press *", at this prompt start spelling the student's last name using the keypad.

TIP: We recommend that when asking a student for their phone number that you also ask for their voicemail box number.; This will enable you to easily leave a voicemail message when the student phone is not answered.
