Meridian System Features

AUTO DIAL
  To Program: without lifting handset, press auto dial key. Dial number to be stored and press auto dial key again.
To Use: lift handset, press auto dial and stored number will be dialed.
CALL FORWARD
  To Activate: without lifting handset, press forward key and dial number where calls are to be forwarded. Press forward key again.
To Cancel: press forward key
CALL PARK (NO DISPLAY)
  To Park: with a call on the line, press park twice. The call is parked on your extension number.
To Retrieve: lift handset, dial *6 plus the extension call was parked from and say "hello".
CALL PARK ( NO PARK KEY)
  To Park: with call on the line, press transfer. Dial *5 and press transfer again. Call is parked against your extension number.
To Retrieve: lift handset, dial *6 plus the extension call was parked from and say "hello".
CALL PARK (WITH DISPLAY)
  To Park: with a call on the line, press park. Read the number in your display. Press park again. Call is parked on that number.
To Retrieve: lift handset, dial 4 digit call park number and say "hello".
CALL PICK-UP
  To Respond: lift handset and press pick-up key or dial *7.
CONFERENCE
  To Activate: press conference key. Dial number. Announce conference. Press conference key again. Repeat procedure to connect up to six parties.
DIAL INTERCOM
  To Call: lift handset and press INTERCOM KEY key. Dial 1 or 2 digit member number. Hear either one ring and connection or hear ringing until intercom is manually answered.
To Answer (Ringing): lift handset and press INTERCOM KEY key, or with 2616 sets only, press INTERCOM KEY key. You are on speakerphone.
To Answer (Voice): INTERCOM KEY key will ring once then answer automatically. If you have a 2616 set with hands-free capability, you will be on speakerphone. With an M2006 or M2008 set you will be able to hear the caller, but you must lift the handset in order to speak to that party.
DN PICK-UP
  To Respond: lift handset and press *8, then dial extension number of ringing phone.
FUNCTION KEYS
  Note: In addition to your extension number(s), you can have features assigned to the telephone function keys on your telephone. You can have any combination of extensions and features assigned to function keys (but only one extension on the M2006). An LCD indicator shows the status of the feature assigned to each key.
HANDS FREE/MUTE
  To Use: press hands free key and set is in speaker phone mode.
To Deactivate: lift handset to turn off speaker phone. Caller is still on the line. Press Rls key to end to call.
To Reactivate: press hands free key. Place handset back in cradle. Call is in speaker phone mode.
To Mute: press hands free key. LCD indicator flashes. Microphone is turned off while speaker is still on.
To Un-mute: press hands free key. LCD indicator shows solid arrow. Both microphone and speaker are on.
HOLD
  To Activate: place an active call on hold by pressing the hold key.
To Deactivate: return to the caller by pressing the extension key beside the falt flashing indicator.
LAST NUMBER REDIAL
  To Use: lift the handset and press the extension key once. Number is dialed, or without lifting handset, press extension key twice.
MAIN EXTENSION NUMBER
  Note: Your main extension number (also known as your primary directory number) is assigned to the lower right-hand key on your phone. When you pick up the handset, your main extension is automatically activated, ready for you to make a call. To activate other extensions (directory numbers or DNs), press their associated keys. The M2006 can have only one extension number.
ON-HOOK DIALING
  To Use: to dial a number without lifting the handset, press a free extension key (hear the dial tone). Dial the number. Pick up the handset when the number starts ringing (if busy, press Rls).
RELEASE
  To Use: disconnect a call on any active extension by hanging up the handset or by pressing the orange release (Rls) key. Rls is especially useful for disconnecting handsfree calls.
SPEED CALL
  To Program: without lifting handset, press speed call key. Dial 1 digit Speed Call Access Code (0-9). Dial number to be stored and press speed call key again. To Use: lift handset and press speed call key again.
SYSTEM SPEED CALL
  To Use: lift handset and press system speed call key or dial *2. Dial 2 digit System Speed Call Access Code and number is dialed.
TRANSFER
  To Activate: press transfer key. Dial number. Press transfer key again.
VOLUME CONTROL
      To Use: adjust the volume on your set using the volume control keys (arrows under number keypad.) Raise the volume by tapping the right side and lower the volume by tapping the left side. You can adjust the volume of the handset, headset, handsfree or buzz. You can adjust the volume while the phone is ringing.
 

 

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USING SINGLE-LINE ANALOG PHONES

Note:  Analog phones are the original phones that will remain in use in areas such as:  Custodian offices, labs, corridor house phones, back stage of auditorium, etc.
CALL FORWARD
  To Activate:  Lift handset and dial #1.  Hear dial tone.  Dial number where calls are to be forwarded and hang up.
To Cancel:  Lift handset and dial #1.  Hear dial tone and hang up.
CALL PARK
  To Park:  Press link button or switch hook flash and dial *5.  Call is parked against your extension.  Hang up.
To Retrieve:  Lift handset.  Press LNR button or dial *9.  Number is retrieved.
CALL PICK-UP
  To Respond: Lift handset and dial *7.  Answer call.
CONFERENCE
  To Activate:  Press link button or switch hook flash.   Hear special dial tone and dial number.  Announce conference.  Press link button or switch hook flash to connect all callers.  Repeat procedure to connect up to six parties.

  To Respond:  Lift handset and dial *8.  Dial extension number of ringing phone.
LAST NUMBER REDIAL
  To Use:  Lift handset and press LNR button or dial *9.  Number is dialed.
PERMANENT HOLD
  To Activate:  Press link button or switch hook flash.  Hear special dial tone and dial *4.  Hang up.  (Reminder:  Your telephone will give one short ring every 60 seconds while the handset is in the cradle to remind you that a caller is holding.)
SYSTEM SPEED CALL
  To Use:  Lift handset and dial *2.  Dial three digit System Speed Call Access Code.  Number is dialed.
TRANSFER
  To Activate:  Press link button or switch hook flash.   Hear special dial tone. Dial number and announce caller in privacy.  Hang up.
