Student E-Mail Management

Student E-Mail Management

Beginning on November 9, 2006 the Information Technology Systems Group will begin the following clean up procedures as detailed below on all student Bridgewater State College mailboxes every week:

  1. Delete all contents in "Deleted Items" Folder that are > 7 days old

  2. Delete all contents in "Sent Items" Folder that are > 14 days old

  3. Delete all contents in "Drafts" Folder that are > 30 days old

  4. Disable all mailboxes and delete the contents if the mailbox has not been logged into within the last 210 days. Students will need to visit the Call Center in the Moakley Open Access Computer Lab to have their disabled mailbox enabled.  This will usually take 1 business day.

The procedures are necessary in order to guarantee the delivery of official college communications to students as per policy. It is hoped that the implementation of the process will also result in the raising of storage limits on individual student mailboxes. If you have any questions about this notice or about the effective strategies to manage your e-mail, contact IT Support Services at itsupport@bridgew.edu or 508.531.2555.
