Science Lab Coordinator Dr. Frank Gorga Reporting Problems Because lab equipment is used so intensively, software and hardware problems with it are inevitable. Report all problems to Help Desk in Moakley via e-mail to itsupport@bridgew.edu account or call extension 2555. Viruses Computer viruses are a very real threat in heavily used, high-volume labs. Information Services taken several precautions which have proven very effective against the common strains of viruses found on campus. Supported software program for virus detection and elimination called Command Anti Virus is available in all labs, electronic classrooms and desktop computers. If you detect a virus please report it to the Help Desk immediately at extension 2555. Opening & Closing The Science Computer lab will be opened and closed by the janitorial staff during the hours of operation indicated above. Access to Facility When the lab is not scheduled for a class, the highest priority for use is to be given to the individual student use while working on assignments for science courses. Staffing The Science Computer lab shall initially be unstaffed. Users will be directed to use the Help Desk extension 2555 for routine problems. Adding staff (graduate assistants or work-study students) may need to be considered in the future. Reserving the Lab Conant Science faculty can reserve the lab on an ad hoc basis; for up to four times per class section per semester. The coordinator of the lab, Dr. Frank Gorga will handle scheduling and at least one weeks notice is necessary to reserve the lab. The reservation schedule for the lab will be posted on the lab door and on the bulletin boards. |
