The BSC cyber security awareness campaign, Be Security Conscious, would like to remind everyone to visit (http://it.bridgew.edu/security) for the latest related tips and alerts, as well as to review the list of those selected for prizes. There are two categories: the general raffle and the best/creative spyWEAR.
Approximately two thousand premiums were given to the more than 900 people who came through the Be Security Conscious Expo II last week. Additionally, Connect Cards were scanned for a random drawing assigning over 100 prizes. The gifts include Hi-Tech items: SLINGBOX, Digital Camera, MP3 Players and USB Thumb Drives as well as No-Tech ones: Mo Vaughn autographed baseball, T-Shirts, protective notebook computer case, gift cards and customized Be Security Conscious laundry bags.
Awareness was threaded throughout the Expo starting with the theme, spyWEAR, to the invited guests from the FBI, the district attorney’s office and the police department. In addition to IT staffers being available to answer questions, community outreach was incorporated into the event. Programs for elementary school students, parents and teachers were presented, and discussions with the customers and employees of a major retailer were held.
The BSC cyber awareness initiative received state recognition from the executive and legislative branches in the forms of a proclamation and citations.
The Be Security Conscious website (http://it.bridgew.edu/security) features security updates, public service announcement videos and photos from expo I and expo II.
