wiki User Policy
Purpose
|
wiki@BSC provides the students, faculty, and administration
of Bridgewater State College with wiki web page space as a means of
communication and collaboration in support of the College's mission of
teaching and learning and to conduct official College business. The purpose
of this policy is to ensure that the wiki is used for purposes appropriate
to the Colleges mission. |
Policy Statement

Bridgewater State College provides wiki services to faculty,
staff, and students. Use of the wiki@BSC service must be consistent with
Bridgewater State College's mission of teaching and learning and comply with
local, state, and federal laws and College policies. |
Applies to

This policy applies to all students, faculty, and staff of
Bridgewater State College and to all other users who are entitled to access
wiki@BSC. This policy does not supersede any existing College policy. |
Responsibilities

Responsible Use
Content of a wiki space must adhere to Bridgewater State Colleges
Responsible Use of Information Technology. Respect the rights of others by
complying with all College policies regarding sexual, racial and other forms
of harassment.
Copyright
- Permissions
Wiki publishers should comply with copyright and trademark regulations.
Graphics, video, audio, or text created by another person may not be placed
on a page without demonstrated permission of the author or artist. Content
deemed to be in violation of copyright law will be removed.

The text of all wiki@BSC pages is freely licensed under the terms of the
GNU
Free Documentation License (GFDL). Re-users of the content must retain it
under the same license, ensuring it remains free. Please read the text of

Images
For large images which may slow down retrieval, use a scaled-down thumbnail
image and provide a link to the large image.
Storage Space
Wiki space owners must keep data space usage to a reasonable level for the
purpose of their wiki.
Confidentiality of Content
wiki@BSC is a public web site. No confidential information should be
contained in a wiki page.
Editing
Editing of a wiki@BSC page requires secure login with BSC user credentials.
Anonymous editing is not allowed. Do not edit wiki pages that you have not
created or do not have involvement with on some level. Respect the work of
others.
Privacy
When editing any wiki page, recognize that your BSC username will appear in
page histories next to any edits that are made.
Non-College Related Content
Wiki space is reserved solely for course and administrative work in support
of the Colleges mission of teaching and learning, including but not limited
to sanctioned clubs, sports, and other College business. Wiki sites should
not be created for personal use, unless related to personal course work or
College business. Personal content not consistent with Bridgewater State
College's mission of teaching and learning will be removed. |

BSC reserves the right to choose how to address or respond to any allegation
of copyright infringement received including, without limitation, the choice
of any defense under applicable law. Details on how BSC responds to
allegations of on-line infringement of copyright are posted online at

Responsible Use of Information Technology
Information technology users who violate this policy and/or the

Use of Information Technology policy will be subject to College disciplinary
processes and procedures. Privileges to use information technology may be
revoked. Illegal acts may also subject users to prosecution by law
enforcement authorities. |
