Wi-Fi Device Support

Purpose

 To protect the Bridgewater State College wireless network from performance, interference and interoperability problems caused by non-certified devices.

Policy Statement

 BSC will only allow Wi-Fi Alliance certified devices to connect to the BSC wireless network.

Applies to

 All Bridgewater State College Faculty, Staff and Students and visitors.

Responsibilities
  • Only Wi-Fi Alliance certified devices will be allowed to connect to the BSC wireless network
  • Only wireless devices that support 802.1x will be allowed to connect to the BSC wireless network
  • BSC staff will fully support Wi-Fi Alliance devices with 802.1x on the BSC wireless network
  • BSC Networking staff will disconnect any non-standard devices that connect to the BSC wireless network
