Recycle Your Course

How do I remove students, grades, DropBox items, etc. at the end of the semester?

Blackboard provides you with a tool for removing students and their course work from your course site at the end of a semester (or at any time). You can remove students, Gradebook entries, DropBox submissions, Discussion Board postings, and so on - all at once using the Recycle Course tool.

To remove students from your course site, do the following:

  1. Make sure you have electronic and/or hardcopies of any student material you might wish to retain.  You may want to archive your course before proceeding to the next steps. This "recycle" procedure will delete student DropBox submissions and Gradebook records
  2. Log into Blackboard and proceed into your course site
  3. Click the Control Panel link
  4. Click the Recycle Course link under the Course Options heading
  5. Under the Select Other Content Materials to Remove heading, place a check in the box next to Users
  6. Type the word Remove in the text box in the lower right-hand corner of your screen
  7. Click the Submit button

You have now successfully recycled (or removed) the selected course materials from your course site.
